When you work with your SRES agent you are working with a person who has the commitment, training and resources to best understand and represent our age 50 and older population in Real Estate planning and transactions.
The move to better understanding and support of senior home buyers and sellers began in 1996, when the late Tim Corliss, a Franciscan monk-turned-realtor in California, started the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council. The SRES designation was established, and three years ago the National Association of Realtors acknowledged the importance of this mission by committing their considerable resources to expanding our resources and empowering the agents who serve this vital and respected part of our population.
Less than 0.5% of the agents who solicit business in Spokane are actually certified, participating SRES Realtors. Some people use the name without permission. SRES Membership not only requires training. but because factors and issues change almost daily it also requires ongoing participation in the Seniors Real Estate Council, a national organization, as well as a continued personal and financial commitment to maintain access to resources.
You can go to www.SeniorsRealEstate.com or call 1-800-500-4564 to confirm that an agent is qualified and in good standing with the Council and the NAR.
